TS2010 Open Cars

These freight cars are labeled as TS2010 and up as they make use of a nifty swaying script library which does not function in earlier versions of Trainz. If one were to remove that functionality, there is nothing else keeping these from working in versions as old as TRS2004. These cars make use of scripted texture swapping which no longer functions in Trainz: A New Era. Therefore, T:ANE is not supported. All freight cars on this page require outside dependencies which are available on the Download Station.

Flatcars

ACL 76000 series flatcar

This 40 ton flatcar design was introduced by American Car & Foundry around 1905 to 1907 and built for several railroads over the following decade. By the end of the 1910s, the cars were obsoleted by 50 ton designs. Despite being obsolete, a few cars were constructed to this design for shortline railroads as late as the mid-1920s. Atlantic Coast Line acquired 1,700 of these cars in 1916 and 1917, which were classified as P-11. Examples remained in service into the 1960s.

This model represents cars in the late 1940s.

NYC 497000 series flatcar

The New York Central Lines acquired 2,050 of these cars and assigned them to several subsidiaries. In 1916, the cars were transferred to the New York Central and renumbered into the 496000 and 497000 number series. On the NYC, these cars were given the classification Lot 208-F. All cars were retired from revenue service by the 1950s.

This model represents cars in the late 1920s.
