This project is centered on the Maine 2 foot narrow gauge railroads during the late 1800s into the 1940s. The equipment is varied and unique. I am working with some other creators called the "Trainz Narrowgaugers" and we are in the process of creating the SR&RL route for Trainz complete with structures, locomotives and rollingstock for the period. Here are a couple shots of the items I have made so far.
This is the #5 Railbus built in the SR&RL shops. There were a few others, this one is the largest.
These are a couple of the typical water tanks found on the 2 foot lines. They are covered to protect the water from the freezing temperatures during the winter season.
Here are some early screenshots of my first Forney from 10OCT2003
Updated screenshots 2NOV2003 – Now the little dude has a brother – the #5. Both are very similar but the #5 is a bit bigger. Interiors work and really add to the experience. Both of these locos are available in the downloads area.
The following shots are of my next route - The Sandy River. This is a two baseboard Trainz layout to showcase the custom 2 foot gauge content that I have been making.
UPDATED: 24DEC2003
Two shots of the old style “drive-through” Phillips station. This type of station was used in many areas around Maine in the late 1800s.
Crossing on the truss bridge and the single stall engine house based on the SR&RL Kingfield shop.
New Phillips station near the 42foot turntable, all new custom items. Passing action on the Sandy River on the right.
